Jacksonville bus drivers union president arrested, charged with attempted murder of ex-wife

Jacksonville, FL — The president of the Jacksonville bus drivers union has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after his ex-wife was found shot inside a home in the Oakleaf area on Wednesday morning.

According to the arrest report, around 7:30 am, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office found 47-year-old Dwayne Maurice Russell’s ex-wife with three gunshot wounds inside his home on Hawksmore Drive.

Hours later, Russell turned himself in to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest report redacted much of the narrative about the circumstances, but it said Russell’s ex-wife was shot in the neck, chest and leg.

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority provided a statement saying it is aware of a domestic incident involving a JTA employee, and its thoughts are with the family and everyone involved.
