Jacksonville, FL — After almost losing his life, Torres said he decided he wanted to save others, more specifically dogs. He began helping abused dogs with health issues.
“I decided to start doing it because I was shown a second chance at life,” Torres said.
“I will pay for everything,” Torres said. “Get the dog really, really healthy again, and then I just re-home them for free.”
This little cutie finally has a loving home. @ActionNewsJax first told you when he was found chained to an abandoned house. He was covered in mites.

Torres saw Action News Jax’s story about an American Bully, named Hero. He decided to step in and help him. Hero was covered in mites. He was so underweight you could see his ribs.
“When they told me his name was Hero, I was like, well, it’s going to be a hero for a hero,” Torres said. But, instead of relocating Hero, like he did with other dogs, Torres adopted him.
Right now, it’s just the two of them, but down the road Torres is hoping to open a dog sanctuary.
