Jacksonville Officer injured in crash near Fruit Cove Middle School

Jacksonville, FL — A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Officer sustained non-life threatening injuries in a morning crash on Race Track Road and Durbin Creek Boulevard near Fruit Cove Middle School.

The officer was transported to a Jacksonville hospital for treatment, according to St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Commander Chuck Mulligan.

It’s not clear how the crash happened, or who may be to blame.  A spokesperson for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says the officer was hospitalized for precautionary reasons.
