It's been more than two months since Hurricane Matthew slammed the First Coast.

Now, a Jacksonville seafood restaurant is raising money to help Huguenot Park reopen after it was damaged during the storm.

The Sandollar Restaurant and Marina, along with city council members, will host several events in December.

The first fundraiser is Friday, Dec. 9 from 6 p.m. to 10.

The restaurant said the proceeds will go toward the park, which needs nearly $1 million in repairs. The estimated cost just to repair damage to the road is $550,000.

Donations can also be accepted in the restaurant's lobby.

Huguenot Park is closed at least until spring. The restaurant said it hopes to raise enough money to help reopen the park before next spring.
