Ownership of the Jaguars has officially changed hands. The Weavers and their partners transferred ownership today to Shahid Khan.
Wayne Weaver said "Parting with the Jaguars is not easy but we have great confidence in Shad and his family that the franchise is in good hands."
Just a few hours afterward, Khan sat down with Jaguars radio to talk about his plans moving forward.
"I did have to break some piggy banks this morning...I'm just glad the check cleared," Khan joked.
Jokes aside, he says he's already getting down to business. First on the list, finding a new head coach, and Khan says he's had a lot of people call already about the job and he wants to make sure he chooses the right man for the job.
"I feel the most important thing I can contribute, certainly for the next two or three years, is to get this right. Get this absolutely right."
Khan wouldn't name specifically who had called or when they'd be choosing, but said fans would be surprised with the speed. Khan says he wants someone who will have good chemistry with the front office, is a winner, and who will engage in the community.
