Jacksonville FL — JEA says a boil water advisory is in effect for a portion of Jacksonville’s Southside because of a water main break from Wednesday. The utility says businesses on the northside of Beach Boulevard from the northeast plaza at Beach and Suni Pines west to Gerona Drive are included in this advisory. The Regal movie theater, Beach Bluff Apartments and Providence Preschool on Discovery Way are also included.
The utility says the water main break happened on Beach Boulevard, east of Suni Pines, when a utility contractor drilled into a JEA pipe.
JEA says if you’re in these areas you should bring your water to a roiling boil for at least a minute before using it to drink, prepare food or cook. The advisory will stay in place until the problem has been fixed and there has been two days of safe test results.
If you have questions you can give JEA a call at 904-665-6000.
