St. Johns County deputies asking for tips, after man's body found in rural area of St. Augustine

Jacksonville, FL — The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for any information after a man's body was found on Poa Boy Farms Road in the County Road 214-area Sunday afternoon.

Deputies say the body has since been identified as Everett Thompson, 39, of Jacksonville. The Medical Examiner's Office says Thompson died of gunshot trauma.

Investigators say they've determined that Thompson traveled to this rural area of St. Augustine on the 22nd, sometime between 8 PM and midnight, to the location where he was ultimately found dead.

Deputies say Thompson was driving a rented silver 2019 Ram 1500 pickup truck with the Florida tag of KCTV95.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information about Thompson's recent whereabouts or any suspicious person or vehicles in the County Road 214-area to contact the Major Crimes Unit Supervisor at 904-209-2220 or Crime Stoppers at 866-245-TIPS.
