JSO: 2 dead after separate Jacksonville shootings Friday

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple Friday shootings that left two men dead.

Police say officers and rescue personnel responded to the 800 block of A. Philip Randolph Boulevard around 5:15 p.m. and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A short time later, investigators learned a second victim with non-life-threatening injuries arrived at a hospital. Police say the suspect vehicle is described as a gray or silver Hyundai that left the scene heading south on A. Philip Randolph.

The other fatal shooting happened in the 900 block of Carrie Street, near West Beaver Street. Police say officers found a 39-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound around 7:20 p.m. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police say there’s not enough information to provide a suspect description, but investigators believe someone fled the scene after the shooting.

Just after midnight, police responded to another shooting in the 3300 block of Broadway Avenue where two victims had already been transported to a hospital. One victim is an adult and the other is a minor, but neither is in life-threatening condition, according to JSO.

The three shootings are not believed to be related, but police are asking anyone with information to come forward. You can contact JSO at (904) 630-0500 or send an email to jsocrimetips@jaxsheriff.org. You can also call First Coast Crime Stoppers at (866) 845-8477 to be eligible for a possible reward.
