Jacksonville, FL — Nearly 500 pounds of marijuana never made it on the streets of Jacksonville, after a major investigation called Operation 'Back to Cali'.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says they were first alerted about a major marijuana operation back in August, by law enforcement in Marin County, California.

JSO says California police had identified a suspect they believed was buying marijuana there and then shipping it to Jacksonville.

After a months-long investigation, JSO says they observed the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Percy Williamson, removing about 20 cylinder-shaped objects from a shipping container. Police say they followed those objects to an apartment complex off Gate Parkway, where they intercepted the suspected marijuana.

JSO says they have now arrested Williamson and five others in connection to the drugs. They've been identified as the following:

In addition to these arrests, police say they seized 498.35 pounds of marijuana, 147.65 pounds of marijuana vapor inhalers, $15,741, and one gun.
