JSO investigating double shooting on Northwest side, one woman dead

Jacksonville, FL — A young woman is dead after being shot in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood on Jacksonville’s northwest side.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrived at the 4700 block of Portsmouth Avenue around 7 pm yesterday, and found a woman between the age of 16 and 20 with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on scene.

The man she was with was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, JSO is searching for two black male suspects in a two or four-door gray vehicle in connection to the shooting.

Detectives are asking anyone in the area to review their security camera video from 6:45-7:15 pm, to see if there’s a gray vehicle in the footage.
