Jacksonville, FL — A day after a woman was fatally shot in the Goodby's Creek neighborhood, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is announcing an arrest in the case.

According to JSO, their investigation led detectives to identify 21-year-old Michael McPherson as a suspect in the woman's murder. Police say they obtained an arrest warrant for murder on Thursday.

JSO says shortly after the warrant was obtained, McPherson was located in South Florida. Police say local officers in Key Largo pulled him over and were able to take him into custody without any issues.

At this time, JSO has not said anything about a possible motive.

Our partner Action News Jax has confirmed the victim is Stacey McPherson-Dillon, who worked at Wolfson Children's Hospital as a nurse.

The hospital released the following statement:

"We were deeply saddened to learn of the death of our nurse, Stacey McPherson-Dillon. The entire Baptist Health family offers our thoughts and prayers to Stacey’s loved ones at this time.
