It could’ve ended with guns in the wrong hands.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says four men broke into the Gun Gallery on Beach Boulevard but left empty-handed Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the store around 2:55 a.m. in reference to an audible burglary alarm.

The police report says the suspects rammed a Toyota pickup truck in the building several times before gaining entry inside.

However, a store manager says the crew only broke into the shooting range section and was unable to gain access to the store.

JSO says surveillance video shows the suspects entering the building then quickly running back out. Officers say the crew fled the scene in a truck and a light colored Toyota SUV.

Just .02 miles away from the Gun Gallery, officers later found an abandoned gray 2014 Toyota Tacoma at Forest Tower Park.

The report says the truck had front and back damage, as well as blue paint marks that matched the outside of the store.

After checking the vehicle tag, police discovered that the truck was originally stolen from a Southside home, unlocked and with the keys, on Apr. 9.

Crime Scene Detectives ordered the vehicle processed for more evidence, according to the report.

JSO says they are searching for one white and three black males related to the incident. At this time, that is all the suspect description officers have.
