Jacksonville, Fl. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are investigating a pedestrian involved crash in the Newtown neighborhood that happened late Tuesday night on King Road.
The pedestrian who has only been identified as an older man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver who hit him was detained and taken to jail, according to Jacksonville Police but not for the crash.
"He did not belong behind the wheel of a car at all," says Lt. J.M. Paris.
JSO says the driver is a habitual traffic offender and should have been driving in the first place. Charges regarding the pedestrian involved crash are pending until police wraps up their investigation.
