JSO pushing ATM safety, after woman robbed on Beach Blvd.

Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office wants you to be on alert around ATM’s after a woman was robbed while trying to make a deposit.

JSO says the robbery happened at a Wells Fargo ATM on Beach Blvd, near St. Johns Bluff Rd South Monday morning. The female victim’s wrist was allegedly grabbed by the suspect, who then took her money from her hand.

The suspect is described as a thin man who’s between 25 and 27 years old, 5’8”-5’9”. He was wearing an Avengers hat.

To keep yourself safe, JSO is urging you to always be aware of your surroundings when you’re using an ATM. They also recommend bringing someone with you if possible, knowing blind spots- like if the ATM is on a corner- and keeping your doors locked and engine running if you use a drive-through.

If you have any information about this robbery, JSO is asking you to contact them at 904-630-0500 or JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. You can also submit an anonymous tip and be eligible for a possible $3,000 reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
