Deadly Arlington Crash (Action News Jax)

Jacksonville, Fl. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is trying to figure out what caused someone to drive in the wrong direction in Arlington causing a deadly crash.

Witnesses told Jacksonville Police a truck was driving south in the southbound lane of University Boulevard. A grey car was in the same lane, but driving northbound.

Witnesses say the grey car was traveling on its side with only two tires on the road.

The two collided at the intersection of University and Atlantic Boulevard, and then one of the cars caught fire.

The first responding officer was able to put the fire out and help those involved in the crash.

When Jacksonville Fire and Rescue arrived on scene they transported one driver and declared another person dead.

WOKV has reached out to JSO more information about the crash involving which driver died in the crash and if anybody was under the influence.
