A judge has excused a juror in the Guy Heinze, Jr. murder trial today. Leslie Coursey with our partner Action news reports that the judge did not say why the juror was excused during the third day of jury deliberations.
Those deliberations must now start from the beginning with an alternate because the jury must come to a unanimous verdict.
If the jury cannot come to a decision, Heinze will likely return to jail to await a new trial.
Heinze, 26, is charged with 8 counts of murder for allegedly beating his family to death in a Brunswick trailer in 2009.
If convicted he could face the death penalty.
