“The loss of one life on our roads is one too many, and the fact almost all fatal traffic crashes can be prevented is one reason why we are awarding this grant,” Allen Poole, Director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety said. “The target of zero traffic deaths in our nation is achievable, and we will continue to help develop and implement educational messages, enforcement campaigns, and other safety initiatives aimed at bringing us one step closer to our goal.”

Chief of Police Evans said he is grateful for this award and the commitment of GOHS to helping local agencies.
“I have seen the progression of law enforcement from pens and paper reports, to every officer’s patrol vehicle being a modern office complete with computers and printers. These systems enable reports to be completed in the field, promptly and efficiently,” Chief Evan said. “With current staffing issues across law enforcement having officers more available for calls for service is vital to public safety. I also would like to thank the City of Kingsland Mayor, Council, and City Manager for their continued support of KPD.”
