Police tape surrounded a Chevron gas station on the Westside Friday morning.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said they received a call about a dead body near the Dumpster on the corner of San Juan Avenue and Hyde Park Road.
The body belonged to a man in his mid-thirties, according to police, but they did not know the man’s name.
Police originally called the incident a “suspicious death” but later classified it as an “undetermined death.”
JSO said they found no signs of trauma or foul play on the body.
Officers received the call about the body just after 4 a.m., but said the call was made on a payphone and the person who placed it was nowhere to be found.
The investigation was turned over to the medical examiner.
