Jacksonville, FL — A 43-year-old man is being charged with careless driving following a fiery crash Monday morning on I-295 southbound, right near the Buckman Bridge.
According to the crash report from the Florida Highway Patrol, Carlaveto Brisbane was driving a flatbed truck heading northbound on I-295 around 7:00 AM, when his truck crossed over the northbound lanes and into the outside shoulder, hitting the guardrail.
From there, the crash report says Brisbane's truck then veered left across all northbound lanes hitting another vehicle. Brisbane's truck then kept going through the median barrier and into the southbound lanes.
Troopers say the truck then overturned, hitting two more vehicles that had been traveling southbound. The crash report says Brisbane's truck and one of the other vehicles then caught fire, blocking all southbound lanes during the morning commute.
The drivers of all four vehicles involved suffered minor injuries, according to the crash report, but only three of them needed medical treatment.
