Jacksonville — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash in St Johns County that sent one man to the hospital via helicopter.

St John County Sheriff’s Office says the crash involved a motorcycle and a pick-up truck on State Road 13 at Collier Road by Trout Creek Park.
According to the crash reporter from Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was going south on State Road 13 approaching Collier. The pick-up truck was stopped in traffic.
Troopers say the motorcyclist didn’t notice the standstill and crashed into the back of the pick-up truck. The report says the motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and onto the road.

The Sheriff’s Office says traffic was stopped northbound at Wards Creek and southbound at the Shands Bridge split. It has since reopened. Troopers say charges are pending further investigation.
