Man killed near Burger King may have been targeted before

Shooting victim who died after walking into Burger King identified The victim, who Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office identified as Luciano Z. Brewer, walked injured and bleeding into the Burger King at Atlantic and Hodges boulevards.

Luciano Brewer, 38, was killed outside an East Arlington Burger King Tuesday night.

Neighbors at his last listed address on the Westside say this may not have been the first time he was targeted.

Our partners at Action News Jax spoke with neighbors who said his home was fire-bombed in May.

The home is still boarded up and smoke damage is still visible. Neighbors said four months later, the owner of the house was shot outside that Burger King on Atlantic and Hodges boulevards.

“We have to be on guard and more careful and maybe watch out for our neighbors,” Eren Jackson said.

JSO hasn't said yet if the Molotov cocktail and Brewer's death are connected.

Police have released very little information about its investigation. The report says the officer was called to the restaurant about a possible shooting. The officer arrived to find a bloody man lying on the floor unresponsive.  Brewer was immediately taken to the hospital where he died.

A look at Brewer’s criminal history shows four arrests in Duval County.

His past accusations include soliciting for prostitution, resisting a police officer and several drug charges from 2006 through last year.
