Man who posed as Amazon driver in Jacksonville Beach home invasion arrested, JBPD says

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla — A man who posed as an Amazon delivery driver and committed an armed home invasion in January has been arrested, the Jacksonville Beach Police Department announced Tuesday.

Action News Jax told you on Jan. 27 that a woman had been held at gunpoint at her home by two suspects claiming to be delivering a package. Investigators said one of the suspects, Christian Vazquez Ortiz, told the woman she needed to sign for the package and rushed into the home when she went to grab a pen.

Police say Ortiz ordered the victim to get into a bedroom closet, but the victim fought him and managed to escape through the living room into the backyard. Ortiz and his accomplice ran from the home but were later seen in a black Acura TLX.

Ortiz is charged with home invasion robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and aggravated assault.
