A verdict in the Kalil McCoy murder case. In just 30 minutes, a Duval jury found Frederick Wade guilty of second degree murder.
Last summer, Wade fired a gun during a struggle and the bullet hit 20-year-old McCoy. She was in an SUV with some friends from Andrew Jackson High School at the time.
"The jury took the facts, applied them to the law and a just verdict was rendered. Hopefully now Kalil McCoy's family can get some sort of closure," said Assistant State Attorney David Thompson.
Wade now faces 25 years to life in prison. He'll learn his fate this June.
Three other people involved with the case will also be sentenced for trying to dispose of her body.
