“Multiple students” face arrest after gun found at Westview K-8

Jacksonville, FL — Multiple students have been taken in to custody after they were found in possession of a gun and ammo at Westview K-8.

A letter from the school’s principal obtained by WOKV shows a student gave administrators a tip about weapon. Administrators and Duval School Police performed a search and found “multiple students were in possession of a single firearm and a magazine with rounds”, according to the letter. DCPS says three people are being questioned at this time.

The letter says the items were confiscated and students were immediately taken in to custody. The investigation is active at this time, but the letter says those involved face arrest, criminal charges, and Code of Conduct discipline.

Nobody was threatened or harmed during this incident.

The Principal thanked the students who reported this incident. They’re urging parents to talk to their children about the consequences of bringing weapons to school and other “poor decision” making.
