We've learned one of the men connected to the murder of an elderly man near Jacksonville International Airport has just been convicted of first degree murder.

Raymond Austin Jr. is facing life in prison when he's sentenced in December.

We first told you in 2010 that 83 year-old Charles Soukup was driving a rental car when he was carjacked and then killed.  His body was found near the airport.

Three other people were charged in connection with Soukup's death.

The State Attorney's Office says Shanda Merritt, Corey Harrington and Marquavious Avery, kidnapped Soukup from the Jacksonville International Airport and then killed him for his rental car.

After the murder, Austin and Merritt used the stolen car in the attempted murder of Merritt’s ex-boyfriend.

A total of six people were arrested in connection with Soukup’s death.
