A burn ban has been issued for unincorporated areas of Nassau County. This comes as crews work to contain a wildfire burning in the Yellow Bluff area.
The Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution at a special meeting. The ban is effective immediately.
Unless you have a permit issued by the Florida Forest Service explaining why you are burning, all outdoor burning is prohibited, according to the county.
The ban does not include cooking on barbecue equipment, as long as you are watching closely and monitoring at all times.
The Board of County Commissioners says they will keep the ban in effect until the Nassau County fire chief recommends they lift it.
If you have any questions related to the burn ban, you can reach out to the Fire Rescue Headquarters at (904) 530-6600.
