Suspects wanted, accused of stealing $20,000 worth of diesel

CALLAHAN, Fla. — Deputies in two counties are searching for three men accused of stealing thousands of gallons of fuel from gas stations.

“This past Monday morning, when the managers were tying out some paperwork, they had noticed some inconsistencies in the paperwork,” Stephanie Davis said. She co-owns the Journey Store, family-run gas station, with her husband. “At that point, they just thought maybe there’s an issue with some meters. So, they had a technician check the meters. At that point, [they] realized that there was someone tampering with the pumps.”

In 72 hours, the men have hit the pumps at two Journey store gas stations six times. The thefts were caught on surveillance camera.

“Three gentlemen were showing up and stealing diesel at all times of the day at both stores,” Davis said. “They open up a pump and then they’re able to bypass some of the features that would make you have to put in a credit card. They also cut a lock that’s inside the pump.”

Davis said the men took 5,000 gallons of diesel totaling approximately $20,000.

“We’re family ran and to know that you put so much effort, energy, and heart into your business, and then someone just takes, you know, that’s a little frustrating,” Davis said. The alleged thieves took diesel from her station in Callahan and Glen in Georgia. “It is odd because locations aren’t near each other, and they’re not near the same interstate interchange,” Davis said.

Davis posted these still photos on her Facebook account. She said two white pickup trucks are involved, along with a black pickup. One of the white trucks has a large dent in it.
