Jacksonville, FL — Traffic around Naval Air Station Jacksonville was at a standstill for hours following a fiery chain-reaction crash that involved six vehicles on Thursday afternoon.
A 60-year-old Jacksonville man whose name hasn’t been released was driving a Suburban when it collided with another vehicle several times around 4:00 p.m. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Suburban left the roadway, hit a truck then overturned. It caught fire, and the driver died on scene.
Another driver sustained serious injuries. All of the other drivers and passengers had minor injuries.
Charges are pending according to an initial crash report by FHP.
