The Army Corps of Engineers are bringing in contractors to repair roofs following Hurricane Irma in Clay and St. Johns Counties at no cost. According to the Army Corp of Engineers only primary residences with shingle roofs are eligible in the program. Metal Roofs will be repaired on a case by case basis and roofs that have more than 50 percent structural damage are not eligible under the program.
In Clay County, you can sign up for the program in person at the Lowe’s in Middleburg on Blanding Blvd from 8am to 6pm until October 13th. If you don’t need to sign up in person you can do so at DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362.
In St. Johns County, you can sign up in person at the Home Depot in St. Augustine on U.S. 1 daily from 8am until 6pm. Representatives are currently available for St. Johns County residents. More information can be found at http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/blueroof/
All that is needed to sign up is a form of ID, like a drivers license.
