A Jacksonville company is facing penalties for two OSHA violations.
Vallencourt Inc. has been cited for problems on a San Marco job site from back in October. OSHA levied a “willful” citation for failing to provide proper cave-in protection. The workers were installing water and sewer lines in a 7-foot excavation, and OSHA says anything deeper than 5-feet requires protections against sidewall collapse.
OSHA also issued a “serious” violation for Vallencourt allegedly failing to provide proper lifting equipment.
The proposed penalties total $53,900. Vallencourt now has 15 business days to respond.
