All I-95 lanes blocked in St. Johns County due to overturned semi

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — ACCIDENT REPORT: A multi-purpose straight truck was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 at about 7:30 a.m. Friday near International Golf Parkway. The truck was loaded with gravel and powdery marcite, according to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol.

“The driver lost control, traveled into the center median and overturned on top of the metal guardrail,” the news release states. “The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.”

The roadway was blocked for several hours and is now open.

8:40 AM: One southbound travel lane in now open. St. Johns County Fire Rescue said one person has been taken to the hospital in serious condition.

7:54 AM: All Interstate 95 southbound lanes are blocked Friday morning due to an overturned semi. The crash occurred near International Golf Parkway. Some northbound lanes are also blocked.

Much of the roadway is covered with debris from the truck.
