We are gathering new information in a breaking news story on University Boulevard, just north of the Arlington Expressway.
"It was a vehicle vs. pedestrian. Â The pedestrian is a 14-year-old male who was running from the east side of the street to the west side of the street after leaving McDonalds," says Sgt. Donald Washington with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Traffic is slow through the area of the intersection but delays do not appear to be more than a couple minutes in either direction.
A backpack, shoe and other personal items are visible at the intersection of University and Los Santos Way.
The teenager was transported to Shands Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries, and at last check was still in life-threatening condition. Â WOKV will bring you updates through the morning as they become available.
