Jacksonville, FL — He claimed to have a gun, but a weapon was not seen on Thursday when a man robbed the Fifth-Third Bank on San Jose and Loretto Road.

The suspect entered the bank during the early afternoon and handed the teller a note demanding money. The note indicated he had a gun.  The suspect fled the bank in a gray or silver Nissan Versa or Sentra that went north on San Jose Boulevard. The suspect, who stands around 6’, wore a black shirt and khaki pants.

New this afternoon, JSO says investigators are looking into the possibility that another bank robbery earlier this month in St. Johns County could be connected to Thursday's robbery. Back on February 10th, St. Johns deputies said a man went to a bank and passed a note to the teller implying that he was armed and demanded money. No one was injured in either robbery.
