Jacksonville, FL — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reports a suspect has been identified and is in police custody following a robbery and stabbing on the westside.
Surveillance photos released Monday show the suspect entering the Metro PCS on Ramona Boulevard shortly after Midnight Saturday.
18-year-old Emery Handy is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
JSO says numerous tips came in immediately once photos were posted, helping to identify the suspect.
According to a statement from JSO, the suspect provided a full confession to the armed robbery.
The suspect stabbed an employee multiple times, seriously injuring the victim. When police arrived they found the victim covered in blood, unable to say much.
He was taken to UF Health to be treated for his injuries.
The suspect took money from the cash register and then fled in an unknown direction.
