Rain and storms by this afternoon, then cooler changes

Jacksonville, Fl — We tied the record of 93 degrees at JAX Airport on Tuesday. Today’s record of 94 degrees was set in 1898. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says this afternoon will be hot with highs in the low 90s. It will feel like the mid to upper 90s with the humidity between 2 and 5 pm.

Scattered showers and storms should push in this afternoon and early evening ahead of a late season cold front. An isolated strong storm is possible. The main threat is damaging winds and perhaps some hail. A few showers and storms will linger on Thursday as the front slowly moves through NE Florida.
