The remains discovered in Levy County last week have been positively identified as missing University of Florida student Christian Aguilar.
The 18-year-old had been missing since September 20, when he was last seen with his friend 18-year-old Pedro Bravo. Bravo has been charged in Aguilar’s murder.
Gainesville Police used dental records to make the identification, although more testing must be performed to determine the cause of death.
Police say Bravo told them he beat Aguilar unconscious and left him in a parking lot. They were apparently fighting over a girl. Both Bravo and Aguilar are from Miami.
