It looks like all the investigations into the Jacksonville-based charity the Wounded Warrior Project are far from over.

The Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Senator Chuck Grassley, has sent the charity a letter questioning some of their financial figures and looking for clarification.

One of the key things the committee is looking into seems to be WWP's claim that they spend 80.6% of their budget on services and programs for veterans.

The committee believes that number is lower and could be as low as 66.6% when you take away free advertising and other donated media. They say it's not clear if that advertising was used as an outreach tool to help veterans access the charity's services, or if it was strictly for fundraising purposes.

The committee also had a number of questions about WWP's alumni events. They wanted to know exactly how much was spent on the events over the last few years and who all was included in the events.

The committee has asked WWP to respond by June 1st.

Wounded Warrior Project sent this statement to WOKV:

We continue to maintain a productive dialogue with Senator Grassley's office and look forward to answering his request for a more detailed explanation of how our programs and services provide essential support to wounded warriors.
