Under arrest.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office has served an arrest warrant on 27-year-old Brandon Allison relating to the death of SJSO K-9 Baron.
A veterinarian has found Baron died of asphyxia and also suffered blunt force trauma. We’re told his body was found in a mud puddle.
Baron and his partner, Deputy Farrah Ashe, were pursuing Allison early last Tuesday following a call to a disturbance at a home on Twin Aspen Circle. Allison fled, deputies believe because he was wanted on a felony charge of selling cocaine.
During the pursuit, Ashe boosted Baron over a fence. He continued to follow the suspect while she scaled the fence. Ashe reportedly heard Baron engage the suspect and when she caught up to them, Baron was dead.
Investigators searched through the day for Allison. He turned himself in the next day on the drug charge.
Allison has now also been arrested for causing great harm or death of a police animal and resisting arrest without violence. He remains in hail on a $155,000 bond.
