SJSO: Man wanted for 2002 deadly crash in Orlando recently seen in St. Augustine

Eric Riters wanted by FHP (St. Johns County Sheriff's Office)

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office says a man wanted for three counts of vehicular homicide in a 2002 crash in Orlando was recently seen in St. Augustine again.

Florida Highway Patrol's Most Wanted fugitives page says Eric Riters was traveling 97 miles-per-hour in a 45 mph zone when he hit a vehicle that was legally stopped on the side of the road. Troopers say Riters' vehicle hit the driver's door of the stopped vehicle which led to fatal injuries for the three people inside the stopped car. FHP says he was also intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Last year WOKV reported when Riters was seen in the St. Augustine area around this same time. Deputies say the images released have been age enhanced to show what he may look like now. Deputies say he's 45-years-old, 6', 180 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.

The sheriff’s office says Crime Stoppers is offering an award up to $5,000 for information that leads to his arrest.

NOTE: While the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office spells his name Eric Ritters, the Florida Highway Patrol lists his name as Eric Riters.

WE WANT THIS GUY. WE REALLY WANT THIS GUY. Eric Ritters is wanted for 3 counts of vehicular homicide from 2002. Rumor...
