ATHENS, Ga. — Multiple sources have confirmed to Action News Jax’s Atlanta station, WSB-TV, that Georgia quarterback Carson Beck will miss the Bulldogs quarterfinal game in the College Football Playoff.

Beck suffered a UCL elbow injury and will miss the Sugar Bowl, WSB learned from sources around the program.

Beck hurt his right arm during the last play of the first half during the SEC Championship Game. He was able to re-enter on the game-winning play of Georgia’s overtime win over Texas.

The Bulldogs will now turn to Gunner Stockton, who played all of the second half and overtime minus the final play.

Stockton will have plenty of practice since Georgia earned a first-round bye. The No. 2 Bulldogs won’t play again until Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl against the winner of No. 7 Notre Dame vs. No. 10 Indiana.
