St Johns County Fire Rescue is recruiting for Firefighters who are certified EMT’s or Paramedics

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla — In St. Johns County the starting pay for EMT’s is just over $47,000 a year while the pay for paramedics is a little over $57,000.

The pay scale is a close comparison to Duval County where EMT’s can start at over $48,000 and paramedics earn closer to $53,000.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics both counties pay slightly over the national average of $37,000 and $49,000 respectively.

Both counties encompass a large geographical area, however, St Johns is not as populated as Duval.

According to there websites St. Johns County Fire Rescue responds to more than 58-thousand calls a year while Jacksonville Fire Rescue responded to over 170- thousand calls last year.
