A card game turns deadly for one man and sends another on the run for 10 days.
20-year-old Montre Richardson and 32-year-old William Hicks were among friends playing cards on March 31st at 11533 Quailhollow Drive near Dunn Avenue on the Northside. Police say for some reason Richardson and his girlfriend began to argue when Hicks stepped in.
"Our victim, William Hicks, basically stood up for her and in doing so I guess made Montre mad and he pulled out his gun and shot him twice," says Lt. Rob Schoonover with JSO's homicide unit.
Schoonover says Richardson knew he was wanted by police because he shot Hicks in front of several witnessesRichardson turned himself into detectives yesterday after ten days on the run.
Richardson has admitted to the shooting and he’s charged with murder.
