Jacksonville, FL — An “all clear” has been given, after two schools had to be locked down as JSO investigated a report of a suspicious person.
The Duval County Public School District confirms to WOKV that both Andrew Robinson Elementary School and Kirby Smith Middle School were put on Code Red lock downs at first, because of police activity in the area. JSO confirms they were investigating a report of a suspicious person, but they say the scene is now clear. DCPS says the police investigation did not involve anything on the school campuses themselves.
The lock downs were eventually downgraded to Code Yellow, and then police issued an “all clear”.
DCPS says parents at both schools were notified about modified dismissals, but that normal dismissal was able to resume, after police determined everything was safe.
Kirby Smith Middle School and Andrew Robison Elementary Update: @JSOPIO and DCPS police have given the “all-clear” & students have resumed their normal dismissal procedures.

The schools are currently on a code yellow due to police activity in the area. Bus riders and car riders are being dismissed. There may be a wait due to traffic. pic.twitter.com/ipvn5PzQod
