A morning SWAT standoff in East Arlington ended peacefully around 9am.
Police were called to the Waterleaf Community off Kernan, north of Atlantic Blvd around 5am.
Neighbor Dallas Moody tells WOKV's Kevin Rincon he heard gunshots around 5am.
"The Sgt. on scene got us up this morning while it was still dark and told us we need to pack up and leave. When we left the house there was three or four cops using the side of our house, weapons drawn, as cover".
When we arrived at the scene at 7 a.m. more SWAT members drove in and equipment typically used to make entry was also brought in. A command center was set up around 8 a.m. and police are telling neighbors to stay out of their homes until the gunman is brought out.
The gunman was taken into police custody around 9am.
