Jacksonville, FL — Two drivers sustained critical injuries in a wrong-way crash on I-95 just north of Downtown Jacksonville as the evening rush hour was ending.
In all, ten people were involved with injuries ranging from minor to critical. The driver of a pickup truck was heading north on I-95 near Kings Road when he lost control and crossed in to the southbound lanes, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The truck hit an SUV head-on. The SUV spun and was hit head-on by a different truck. The original wrong-way truck continued to cut across the southbound lanes and then hit an SUV, eventually hitting a chain link fence and coming to rest.
Two drivers had injuries that are described by FHP as critical. Four children ranging in age from 5 to 13 were passengers in one of the vehicles and had minor injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol says charges are pending as it continues to investigate.
