Jacksonville Bank Robbery Suspect The suspect wanted for a robbery at the Regions Bank on San Jose Blvd. was described as being a white female between the ages of 65 and 70 years of age, approximately 5'2" tall and 150 pounds with straight gray hair to her shoulders.

The elderly woman described as toothless, and pushing 70, who attempted to rob a bank in Jacksonville last week has been arrested.

68-year-old Barbra Stratton of Jacksonville confessed to attempting to rob the Regions Bank on San Jose Blvd. back on Aug. 3.

According to the police report, Stratton passed a note demanding money to a teller, saying her daughter had been kidnapped and she needed the money.

The branch manager came to the window and told Stratton she should leave, so Stratton left empty handed. She was seen getting into a taxi cab after leaving the building.

On Monday, police were following up on a bank robbery investigation at 4330 South Plaza Gate Lane after receiving numerous tips.

Police saw a vehicle Stratton was believed to be and she was taken into custody without incident.

As of Wednesday morning, Stratton is held on $20,000 bond at Duval County Jail on an attempted robbery charge.
