Two masked men on the run after Southside apartment shooting

Jacksonville, FL — A 19-year-old has suffered serious injuries, after being shot outside a Southside apartment.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to the Canyon Square Apartments on Old Kings Rd South late Thursday for a report of a shooting. Initially, police would only confirm that they found a man suffering from a gun shot, and he had been taken to the hospital.

The incident report we’ve now obtained says the 19-year-old victim and another man were in a car at the apartments hanging out, when the victim stepped outside to take a call. The witness told police that two unknown men who were wearing all black and masks walked up, with one holding a long gun. The armed suspect allegedly shot the victim and then ran off, although the incident report doesn’t list any potential motive for the shooting.

JSO’s incident report says multiple people in the complex reported hearing a shot being fired, but nobody was able to provide further suspect description.
