Two shot during reported armed robbery at Westside apartments

Jacksonville, FL — Two people are expected to recover after being shot during what may have been an armed robbery on the Westside. Jacksonville Police were called Sunday afternoon to the Finley Apartments on 103rd Street near Old Middleburg Road.

A neighbor who did not want to be identified reported hearing a gunshot while she was walking her dog. She ran toward her apartment complex to seek shelter and reported seeing a young man lying on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound.

JSO said there was another person who showed up at an area hospital also suffering from a gunshot wound around the same time, and claiming it happened at the same location.

Police said they believe the incident happened during an attempted robbery. It’s unclear if the two people shot were victims or suspects.  Police said both of the people shot were expected to be OK.  They did not confirm any identities or ages.
