Vehicle discovery takes 2015 missing person’s case to Clay County

A missing person’s case from more than three years ago in Palatka is getting a new lead. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says they found the vehicle owned by missing man, Wallace “Buster” Gerrald, in a heavily wooded and secluded area of Green Cove Springs Sunday morning. Deputies say the landowners for where the vehicle was found don’t live there and they rarely visit.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Gerrald was last seen in the Palatka area in October 2015. FDLE says when he went missing he was possibly driving a white 2013 Ford F-150 with a South Carolina tag. Gerrald was 85 when he went missing and came from South Carolina to Palatka to get some legal documents and never made it back.

Deputies say they are helping Palatka Police with any new leads and there will be a heavy police presence at the end of Rosemary Hill Road in Green Cove Springs Friday.

Deputies say Gerrald has never been located and if you have any information on the investigation to give them a call at 904-264-6512.
