Video game creator Cliff Bleszinski relives his “highest highs and lowest lows” in his new book

The year was 1991, R.E.M. lost their religion, Bill and Ted went on a Bogus Journey, and Cliff Bleszinski created his first video game on his Apple computer. It would be the beginning of a multi-decade career that would create such iconic franchises like Gears of War and Unreal.

After stepping away from the industry almost 5 years ago, Bleszinski chronicled his journey in games in his memoir “Control Freak: My Epic Journey Making Video Games.” I had a chance to talk with Bleszinski about the writing process, reflect on his career, and talk about karaoke.
